| Welcome!
Located in the gateway to the spectacular Oregon Cascades, our school district provides exceptional opportunities for students. 100 percent of our teachers are rated Highly Qualified, and we are making a long-term investment in their success using the “Four Characteristics of Improved School Districts.” (Click Here for PDF) Our schools are constantly broadening options for students by offering a growing number of online courses, in addition to more traditional classes. We work closely with families through parent clubs, online links to teachers and student progress data. We offer an innovative Family Support Program and health services that are designed to keep kids in school and learning. The work is paying off: Students at every level and in every subgroup are making progress in reading and mathematics. We take great pride in our students and our schools. Please visit us and learn more!

ACADEMIC ALL-STATE HONORS FOR EPHS TEAMS!
Congratulations to the student athletes on the Eagle Point High School football team. They earned Academic All-State recognition from the Dairy Farmers of Oregon and the Oregon School Activities Association. Our football players, coached by Jacob Schauffler, earned Top 10 honors in Class 5A with a 3.09 grade-point average. In addition to these honors our volleyball and both boy's and girl's cross country teams made the 3.0+ list. These honors reflect the dedication that our players and coaches bring to the classroom as well as their sports. Go Eagles!
STUDENTS MAKE ACROSS-THE-BOARD ACHIEVEMENT GAINS
Our students raised their achievement in reading and math across the board in the 2010-11 academic year. Performance on standardized tests improved at the elementary, middle and high school levels in every subgroup, including those with special needs and those still learning English. Congratulations to our students, staff and community for this strong accomplishment. Can we do more? Of course. Our job is to add value for our students, and that means always striving for improvement – school by school as well as across the district.

CONSTRUCTION OF HILLSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IS UNDER WAY
Construction is under way on our newest school, Hillside Elementary. Located at the corner of Main Street and Tabor Avenue, Hillside will feature 24 classrooms in four wings. They will be linked to a central core that houses a media center, cafeteria, multipurpose gym and offices. The design emphasizes teacher collaboration and efficient use of learning space, along with state-of-the-art technology and energy systems. Kirby Nagelhout Construction Co. of Bend is the lead contractor. When Hillside is completed in spring 2012, it will provide a modern replacement for Little Butte School. All costs of building Hillside are being covered by an insurance settlement, which is funding additional capital improvements for the district.
